Douglas Renner joined Baum Realty Group, LLC in 2006 bringing with him over a decade of retail experience. Recently, Doug was promoted to Managing Director and selected as a 2014 CoStar Power Broker Award winner. His focus at Baum is to oversee third party leasing representation for owners, developers, and investors of retail shopping centers, single tenant investments and mixed use developments. Doug’s clientele’s interest ranges from big-box, grocery anchored centers to urban infill mixed use retail.
Throughout his career, Doug has been responsible for Lease and Sale transactions valued in excess of $600 million and more than 1.5 million square feet. Doug’s successes include implementing market strategies for national, regional and local tenants as well as landlords. Notably, Doug was recently responsible for leasing a competitive stretch of North Michigan Avenue between 2 and 20 North Michigan to Starbucks, Panera, and Remington’s Restaurant that has changed the completion of the street. Past and present clients include: 4 Star Restaurant Group(Remington’s, Windsor, Smoke Daddy and Crosby’s Kitchen), Home Run Inn Pizza, Inc., Cosi, Inc., Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, Harbor Freight Tools, Harlem Irving Companies, Newcastle Limited, Prime Group, Capri Capital, RREEF and Regency Centers.
Doug is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Chicago Commercial Real Estate Networking Club, Corporate Real Estate and Retail Site Selection Professionals. He is also charitably involved in the Chicago Real Estate Annual Food Drive for the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Opportunity Through Baseball, providing education and skill coaching for at risk children.
Doug holds a BA and a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration both from the Ohio University.
Will Crowden is a Vice President at Baum Realty Group, specializing in the sales and leasing of urban and suburban retail properties. Will works closely with many institutional property owners and developers on the product side, and has exclusively represented many local and national tenants in the Chicago market and several throughout the country. Will can effectively service a small growing brand and has earned the reputation of being a national retail specialist acting as the real estate point person on multi-unit national roll outs. Will has been a leader in the commercial real estate industry for more than 10 years, and has successfully represented dozens of property owners including Macerich, Newcastle Limited and The Sterling Bay Companies and has also performed extensive workout services with many local and national banks, including Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase Bank and MB Financial, helping them dispose of numerous troubled assets.
Prior to joining Baum Realty Group, Will served as a Vice President at Jameson Commercial, where he primarily focused on the sale of retail properties and net leased investment properties, retail leasing and landlord representation. Will’s additional experience includes serving as a Senior Associate for Sperry Van Ness, a national commercial real estate firm in Chicago, where he worked on the sale of commercial condominiums and the leasing of commercial space, in addition to landlord / owner representation and handling net leased investments. Will’s commercial real estate career began as an Asset Manager for Joseph Cacciatore & Company in Chicago, managing over one million square feet of commercial property throughout the Chicagoland metropolitan area.
Will served on the Board of Directors at The Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) for two consecutive terms and was also the 2012 and 2013 Chair of CAR’s Commercial Forum Committee. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a founding member of CAR’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) Advisory Board and a member of the Real Estate Investment Association (REIA).
Bob has over 20 years’ experience helping national and regional multi-unit companies to reach their expansion goals nationwide. He has also represented many corporate and institutional clients in marketing and leasing flagship properties throughout the Chicagoland marketplace. Sample representations include The John Buck Company (Plaza 440), Hines Development (Three First National Plaza), Lend Lease (Equitable Building and NBC Buildings), General Motors (Oak and Rush), City of Chicago (Richard Daley Center lower concourse) and the Novogroder Companies.
Bob has exclusively represented national chains such as Starbucks (80 transactions) and Washington Mutual (157 transactions in 2 a year period) as well as Harris Bank, FedEx Office, White Hen Pantry, Alonti Deli, Paul Harris Stores, World Savings Bank, Caffe Baci and Wet Seal.
Bob has put his stamp on Michigan Avenue by completing 2 Starbucks transactions at 440 and 500 N. Michigan Avenue. He represented Paul Harris on the second level of the Realtor Building and he represented the landlords at 555 N. Michigan Avenue and 200 N. Michigan Avenue where he was responsible for transactions including Chase, Starbucks, Parade of Shoes and Powerhouse Gym.
Bob also has significant experience in the Northwest Indiana and Wisconsin Markets with developments that include a 356-unit senior independent living apartment complex in Merrillville, IN.
In addition to being a real estate broker with licenses in Indiana and Illinois, Bob is an attorney with licenses to practice in Illinois and Maryland.
Ken Robberechts joined Baum Realty Group in November, 2012 and comes to the group after spending several years working with Prudential Rubloff Properties. Ken’s experience ranges from the representation of urban infill mixed use retail and land development to the representation of both national and regional tenants.
Ken brings a diverse background in different disciplines within the CRE/Finance industry and has both a Finance and International Business degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business as well as a Master’s Degree in Global Management from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
Ken is a member of the Illinois CCIM Chapter and of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Trevor Jack joined Baum Realty in January of 2014. He provides landlord representation services to a portfolio that includes listings both in the city and suburbs of Chicago. Trevor currently is tasked with leasing responsibilities for Wilson Yard, City Hyde Park and Park Boulevard as well as properties in Roscoe Village, Lincoln Park and Naperville.
Prior to joining Baum Realty Group, Trevor interned with Cushman & Wakefield in their retail brokerage division where he canvassed for tenants looking to enter the Chicago market, abstracted leases, analyzed market data and developed briefings.
Trevor is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, the CCIM Institute, Illinois Real Estate Forum, Young Real Estate Professionals and the American Planners Association.
Trevor graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban & Regional Planning. Trevor is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois and is a LEED Green Associate.
